So I’m Edgar Semler, I’m the president of Dycor Technologies here in Edmonton, Alberta. So Dycor designed the SmartVue for the fracking industry, for fracking vehicles in particular. And so some of the key features are that it works, it has a touch screen that’s sunlight readable. Works down to minus 40 up to plus 70.
It speaks J1939 protocol, which is the industrial vehicle communications protocol. It is extremely rugged-built so it’ll bounce down roads going to an oil well site, and lastly it also has Class 1, Div 2 hazardous location approvals for both Canada and the USA. One another key feature that it has is that PID controller; there are two PID loops that are part of that that are independently controlled and so you can bring in data and use the PID loop to control certain, to control any device that you would have connected to it.
SmartVue was specifically designed, as I said, for the fracking vehicle market. But because it is so flexible in that market, it can be used really for any industrial vehicle application in extreme environments.
Particularly here in Northern Canada it’s just as well suited to work down in Texas or even overseas; we have some units that are operating in India and other locations where hot weather is a significant issue. Other applications where SmartVue is really adept at working in is a Class 1, Div 2 environment on an oil well site, so it could work in any kind of process control environment such as a gas plant or right at the well head.
